When you think of Niagara you automatically think of wineries, and so you should. However, three breweries have opened up in Niagara on the Lake over the past few years and they are going to make you start thinking about adding Niagara breweries to you list of things to do. They are all a few minutes drive from each other. One is in a historic telephone exchange building, another is in an old Church, and the third is in an old red barn. If you need a break from touring wineries why not add a Niagara breweries tour to your plans and support these craft breweries breaking into wine region.
The Exchange Brewery 7 Queen St, Niagara on the Lake – The newest and the most modern of all the tasting rooms you will visit is to be found right on the main street of downtown Niagara on the Lake. When you step inside you will be able to see all the way into the area where they brew the beer. Each beer is named after a phone “exchange”. My favourite was the beer named +, a Belgian Golden Ale aged in Chardonnay barrels to give it a dry and fruity beer. Easy walking distance from most hotels in Niagara on the Lake.
